Our Christmas Story

Our Christmas Story

Once again, the year has flown by and we are counting down to Christmas, searching for just the right gift to bring a smile to the faces of our loved ones on Christmas morning.  At PA Jewellery we aim to have a piece to suit every style and budget, from stocking fillers to all-out showstoppers.

Christmas is the season of sparkle, and nothing sparkles quite like a diamond.  For a classic look, solitaire pendants and earrings are a perennial favourite, and we have a broad selection of sizes available in both natural and laboratory grown stones to suit the widest possible range of preferences and budgets.

Cluster designs, from geometric Art Deco-inspired clusters to modern ‘bubble’ or ‘spray’ styles make fantastic dress rings or pendants, adding extra glitter to an outfit over the festive season.  Both make clever use of shape and detail to create looks that combine drama with delicacy; millgrain edging lending a prettier finish to Deco-influenced clusters, while the boldness of bubbles remains finer with the choice of multiple strands in the shank.

If diamonds aren’t your thing, then coloured gemstones offer a wide range of beautiful looks.  Particularly on-trend are shades of blues and greens, and stones with multi-coloured appearances, and we’ve assembled some stunning pieces to reflect this.

Blue is a fantastic colour to wear regularly, as it will co-ordinate with so many different outfits, and it doesn’t get much bluer than lapis lazuli, solid and vivid, with flecks of golden pyrite.  Just as magical, the combination of bluish-purple Tanzanite with the ethereal shimmer of moonstone gives an enchanting look in hues that reflect the icy weather of winter.

Tourmaline is one of our favourite gems, and since it forms in almost any colour of the rainbow, it has something to offer most.  Excitingly, it can also grow with areas of multiple colours in the same crystal, so stones displaying more than one hue are also available, most commonly pink and green.  These fascinating gems are natural marvels, and wonderfully versatile.

For creating a magical multicoloured look, opal is another great choice.  Precious opal can display magnificent play of colour, with multiple hues dancing just beneath the surface of the stone, each piece with unique patterns and combinations.  Whether in darker or lighter tones, this is a gem you will never tire of looking at.
